Watch Out, Xena!
You know, I’ve had the privilege during the”Get-To-Yes” Formula Mastery Course of listening to the secrets, tips, tricks, and wisdom of our awesome guest experts every day. And there are so many useful take-aways that I don’t even know where to begin.
So today I’d like to share with you an “ah-ha” moment I had while chatting with EnergyRICH Coach Heather Dominick. There are several great things she shared with us, but one thing that really stood out for me was her description of heart-centered entrepreneurs as “modern day warriors.”
Heather’s feeling is that those of us who are called to have a soul-connected service based business, are truly on the “front lines” — with a courage of conviction, a willingness to take risks, and a deep desire to transform people’s lives and thereby help change our planet.
In other words, “Modern Day Warriors,” (Well, yeah, of course. I mean, on a good day. :)
Honestly, the first image that popped into my head when she said warrior was a hulking, hairy, man-creature, with flexing pecs, dripping testosterone and brandishing a huge sword.
I mean, I’ve thought of myself as a lot of things (and I’ve been called several other things as well LOL), but “warrior” has never been at the top of the list.
So I trotted out my trusty Oxford Dictionary and there were several definitions of the word “warrior”, not surprisingly, most of them having to do with war. But this one struck a chord:
warrior |ˈwôrēər| noun:
a brave and/or experienced fighter
Well let’s see. I know I have tons of experience. And even though it doesn’t always feel like it, I know I’m quite brave. (And my clients are some of the most courageous people I’ve ever met!) And I know that every day that I get up and spend my time and energy helping others create the life and career of their dreams, I am “fighting the good fight.”
I sat with that for a moment and then thought, “Well, why not? The truth is, I am a warrior!”
Sometimes we spend so much time problem solving, and just dealing with life, that we forget what an amazing calling we have and we fail to acknowledge that we take courageous actions every day.
So here’s to you, fellow warriors!
I know that you regularly step out of your comfort zone.
I know that you bravely tackle challenges everyday.
I know that you keep going even when you “don’t feel like it.”
I know that you are fighting the good fight.
So at the end of the workday, when your partner, spouse, friend (or whoever) asks how your day went, you just tell them “I was a warrior today!”
(I wonder what I’d look like in one of those “fur and horn” Viking hats?).
